After my budgies completely ignored the bird bath again for days, I thought, as I was just outside in the garden, I could take some wild carrots for them.
So I then also gave the water in the bird bath some bath additive in the form of carrot greens. And lo and behold, a short time later it was suddenly interesting and everyone wanted to have a look inside. As you can see from the photo above, they didn’t just fish out the carrot greens there, they actually bathed.
Not without bath additive seems to be the secret.
This doesn’t work every time, of course, but I think it shows that budgies do appreciate a natural bath additive. So it can’t hurt to give it a try.
